A Orquestra Sinfônica de Sorocaba (OSS) terá dois concertos, nesta sexta-feira (11), às 20h, e domingo (13), às 19h, com a participação do violista convidado Gabriel Marin. A programação especial celebra o aniversário de 33 anos da Fundação de Desenvolvimento Cultural de Sorocaba (Fundec), onde as apresentações acontecerão.
Os concertos integram a série “William Fabri”, da temporada de 2025, em homenagem ao violista que atuou na orquestra e é considerado um dos pilares fundamentais para sua história. William foi um dos fundadores da Sinfônica de Sorocaba, em 1949, e permaneceu atuante por mais de cinco décadas, dedicando sua vida à consolidação da orquestra na cidade, tanto como músico quanto como articulador cultural e político.
Com um repertório diversificado e emocionante, a OSS reafirma o compromisso com a excelência musical e a valorização de sua história, homenageando grandes nomes que ajudaram a construir sua trajetória. As apresentações do solista convidado contarão com concertos aclamados, como Abertura-Fantasia Romeu e Julieta (Piotr Itch Tchaikosky), Romance para viola e orquestra, Op. 85 (Max Bruch), Andante e Rondo Ungarese, Op. 35 (Carl Maria Von Weber) e Príncipe Igor “Danças Polovtsianas” (Alexandr Borodin).
Natural de Piracicaba (SP), Gabriel Marin é violista do Quarteto Carlos Gomes e da OSUSP. Em 2004, venceu o Prêmio Eleazar de Carvalho com direito a bolsa de estudos no exterior. Entre as experiências estrangeiras, Gabriel soma estudos na Dinamarca, bolsa integral da Heinemann Foundation com participação na Verbier Festival & Academy, na Suiça, onde foi aluno de Nobuko Imai e Roberto Diaz, além de ter tocado à frente da Orchestre D’Auvergne, da França.
Ao retornar para o Brasil, foi o primeiro viola solo da Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira (OSB), por seis temporadas. Atuou, ainda, como solista frente a outras orquestras brasileiras, como Sinfônicas da Paraíba, de Sergipe e de Campinas. Já foi professor convidado em muitos festivais, de Londrina, Gramado, Curitiba e Campos do Jordão. O violista é fundador e idealizador do Encontro Campestre de Violas e, atualmente, leciona e é Coordenador de Música de Câmara no Instituto Baccarelli.
